Modern and exciting introduction to sailing.
For one or two children or for an adult and child.
The Taz can be sailed by two people and can also be sailed singlehanded. On one hand, a child as light as 30kg can handle a Taz, and on the other the Taz has capacity to carry 90kg, meaning that two children or an adult and child can sail together.
The hull is deceptively spacious and has the same cockpit capacity as some more expensive rivals. The unrivalled TRILAM construction produces a supremely durable hull with high levels of buoyancy. At just 40kg, the hull is also impressively lightweight making the boat manageable afloat and ashore even for young children.
The Taz comes with mainsail and jib as standard. The hard wearing Dacron mainsail is favoured by first-time sailors and schools. The rig is simple and lightweight enough to be operated by a child single-handedly, although the Taz is often used as a two person trainer or recreational dinghy.
It uses foils which are capable of dealing with all the knocks and bumps of beginner sailing. The self-draining cockpit, righting lines and grab rails making it extremely safe to sail.
The Taz comes with the highest specification equipment fitted as standard making the boat a pleasure to sail and keeping gear failure to an absolute minimum. The boat also comes with a 3-year hull warranty.
Even the smallest sailor feels safe, comfortable and confident in the superb TAZ. Her ultra-modern good looks will instantly ignite interest. Once on the water, the superbly responsive TAZ comes into her own to delight and win over yet another new convert to the sport of sailing.
The TAZ feels much bigger aboard than she really is. The self draining cockpit is spacious, uncluttered and comfortable. There is more than enough room for teacher and pupil to sail together without feeling cramped or restricted. An extra high boom gives an even greater feeling of space and allows the centreboard to be fitted before you go sailing.
Stowage pouches fit into inspection hatches for storing keys, cold drinks etc.
The easy to lift rudder system keeps the rugged moulded blade in perfect condition. This sturdy rudder fitting is amongst the best on any production model sailboat.
Rigging the TAZ could not be any quicker or more simple. Within a matter of minutes you can get the boat rigged and on the water.
The lightweight Taz sailboat is easily cartoppable. Getting the Taz from storage to the water and back is a breeze.
The hi-tech roto-moulded polyethylene hull is unsinkable and far stronger and longer lasting than other boats on the market. The hull is virtually indestructible, even against the harshest knocks and scrapes inflicted by novices. But, in the unlikely need of a repair, the workability of polyethylene makes any repairs effortless. Tried and tested fittings and fixtures ensure that failures are kept to a minimum.
The TAZ is the perfect introduction to sailing. The renowned Topper Junior Racing Class is well established and recognised by the RYA and World Sailing (ISAF). There is no better Topper apprenticeship than the TAZ.
